Our Programs

We strive to provide programs which address the unique needs of veterans and their families. Take a look below and see if something sounds like the help you need.

Disaster Assistance

Can provide up to $500 to be paid directly to the applicant in times of disaster (natural or manmade) for more immediate needs while things like insurance claims and FEMA applications are being handled.

  • The program is designed for VFW and Auxiliary members, but it is opened up to other veterans/servicemembers in times of large disasters.

  • Except for special circumstances which will be announced, the program is restricted to residents of the state of Texas.

  • Proof of military service will be required.

Post Assistance Grant

Can provide up to $2,500 in reimbursements for VFW posts in Texas making qualified improvements or repairs to their home buildings.

Homeless Veterans Stand-down Grants

VFW posts and Auxiliaries can apply for a grant to help provide supplies for homeless veteran stand-downs in which the post and/or auxiliary are participating and which are being hosted or coordinated through official channels such as the VA or state/local government agencies.

The grant is a reimbursement of up to $500 for materials which will be provided to attendees such as clothing, toiletries, etc.

And other programs as needed. The Texas VFW Foundation hosts various specialty programs throughout the year for a number of different causes. Keep an eye on this page or on our Facebook page for announcements of those programs.
